It now begins

I started using Blender again, have to learn the 2.8 version which is much much much better than 2.79 but also very different, and I haven’t designed models in quite some time, so it’s a lot of effort, but I’m getting there.

At the moment, I created a seamless castle wall texture under Photoshop (tech 1), created all the derived maps in Materialize (tech 2), created a relatively low poly mesh for the wall in Blender (tech 3), imported all that stuff into UE4 and created a tesselated material from the maps in UE4 (tech 4).
Tomorrow, I’ll put the mesh on a spline (tech 5) and if everything goes along the plan, I’ll be refining the mesh and creating the guard towers, gates and the like.

That’s many techs involved and a lot of work but that will build myself a huge amount of confidence which I badly need at the moment because I’m fully aware that I’m biting more than I can chew.
