First day on the real project

Screw the courses, they are tedious and get on my nerves, so I started to create what will be the first zone of the game: the Goblins cave, the first Althea dungeon from back in 2001.

What does that encompass so far?

  1. Camera movement, zooming in and out, following the player on a spring arm. Yes, it is not standard, it has to be programmed. Months I wanted to do it, now it’s done.
  2. Character movement: I want the exaxt same controls as World of Warcraft which I can’t achieve perfectly yet, lots of things to learn still about controllers.
  3. Automatic scaling materials which resize according to the size of the mesh they are applied on, which allows me to assemble elements that I can resize at will with always an optimal texturing.
  4. Mesh sculpting in Blender and importing into UE4.
  5. Character mesh import.

All of that sounds obvious, but it is not.
I can now move a character in a cave, this is day to be remembered!
